Details of the Job/Internship

AbbVie is hiring a Legal Counsel with 10 years of experience to join their office in Bengaluru. 

Role and Responsibilities

• Provide strategic legal counsel to the India business and regional teams in collaboration with cross-functional partners.
• Serve as a member of the India Affiliate Management Team, contributing to business strategy and risk mitigation.
• Support and lead legal initiatives and projects on novel legal issues and business transactions across the Therapeutics Legal team.
• Deliver practical, risk-based legal solutions aligned with AbbVie’s policies, business goals, and legal requirements.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of agreements, including:
• Vendor, distribution, marketing, and manufacturing agreements
• Healthcare professional and organization agreements
• Service and supply contracts
• Manage litigation and disputes, working with external counsel when needed to safeguard AbbVie's interests.
• Enhance legal operations by developing templates, toolkits, and standardized processes for consistency and efficiency.
• Design and lead legal training programs for business and functional stakeholders to ensure awareness and compliance.

Eligibility

• Law degree from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 10 years of post-qualification experience, preferably with a blend of law firm and in-house experience.
• Prior in-house experience within a multinational pharmaceutical company or familiarity with the pharmaceutical regulatory landscape is highly desirable.
• Additional exposure to areas such as antitrust, anti-bribery, data privacy, or IP law is a plus.
