Details of the Job/Internship
AbbVie is hiring a Legal Counsel to provide comprehensive legal support to its pharmaceutical business in India and the India region, with additional responsibilities extending to some legal work across Asia.
Role and Responsibilities
- Provide strategic commercial legal advice and support to AbbVie’s pharmaceutical business in India and the region.
- Serve as a key member of the India Affiliate Management Team and contribute to strategic planning and decision-making.
- Support or drive workstreams within the Legal Therapeutics team on strategic matters and projects.
- Offer business-oriented, efficient, and long-term solutions for strategic challenges.
- Identify legal issues, conduct analysis, and deliver expert advice and risk-based solutions.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of legal agreements including vendor, distribution, marketing, wholesaler, manufacturing, service, supply, and healthcare agreements.
- Manage and resolve disputes and litigation, engaging external counsel as needed.
- Develop and maintain standard contract templates, legal tools, and processes.
- Design and deliver legal training programs for business and functional teams.
Eligibility
- Law degree from a reputable university.
- Minimum of 10 years of post-qualification experience, ideally within a reputable law firm and as in-house legal counsel in a multinational organization.
- Prior in-house experience within a global pharmaceutical company and/or familiarity with pharmaceutical industry-specific regulations preferred.
- Understanding or experience in antitrust and competition, compliance and anti-bribery, data privacy and protection, and intellectual property is a plus.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Strong communication and influencing skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- High ethical standards and integrity.
Salary/Stipend
