Details of the Job/Internship
Airtel Payments Bank is hiring a legal counsel with 7 to 9 years of experience to join their office in Kolkata.
Role and Responsibilities
Contract Management
- Draft, evaluate, negotiate, and execute contracts.
- To serve as a single point of contact for all contractual matters.
- Provide contract-related resolution, both internally and externally.
- Regular standardization of standard templates.
Dispute Management
- Research on disputes, facts, and legal positions.
- Develop a strategy to contest a dispute.
- Drafting of legal notices and replies to notices.
- Ensure timely, accurate, and appropriate responses to the notices.
- Handle arbitrations and contractual disputes.
Risk Mitigation and Advisory
- Give accurate and timely advice to teams on a variety of legal topics and contractual interpretations.
- Research and evaluate different risk factors regarding business decisions and operations.
- Provides legal advice on the company's policy and policy drafting.
- To be actively involved in managing potential litigation and ensure that the company's interest is protected. To advise and assist the stakeholders in negotiations with third parties and to assist as appropriate in concluding settlements.
- To advise on new products and services.
IT
- Working with the Engg team to assess potential early-stage risks and devise efficient defense strategies.
- Providing practical, timely, strategic, and high-quality legal advice and counsel on global privacy and data security-related matters.
- Providing robust legal support for the strategic reviewing, drafting, and negotiating of privacy and data security terms in contracts with business partners and vendors, including data processing agreements and advising on potential liability and other legal aspects related to data privacy and data security incidents.
Knowledge Sharing
- Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions on drafting and negotiations.
- Regular updates on new enactments, amendments, and their impact on businesses.
- Regular training to business spot on contractual aspects and risk mitigation steps.
Eligibility
Education Qualification
- Law Graduate (Full-time) LL.B./LL.M.
Total Experience
- 7-9 years of experience, initial experience in a law firm will be an advantage.
Certifications required (if any)
- CIPP/E will be an advantage.
