Details of the Job/Internship
AMU is hiring a Legal Counsel to join their office in Gurugram. The role involves handling regulatory compliance for NBFC operations, contract management, litigation and dispute resolution, risk management, internal policies, consumer protection, and legal research related to vehicle and battery financing.
Role and Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with RBI guidelines and other applicable regulations for NBFCs.
- Handle regulatory filings and stay updated on changes in laws related to vehicle financing, banking, and financial services.
- Draft, review, negotiate, and manage contracts including loan agreements, lease agreements, co-lending agreements, NDAs, guarantee deeds, hypothecation agreements, charge-related filings, and customer financing agreements.
- Draft, review, and update RBI-mandated policies and communicate regulatory updates to management and teams.
- Advise business units on legal implications of contractual obligations.
- Represent the company in legal proceedings related to vehicle financing, loan recovery, and customer defaults.
- Coordinate with collections teams and empanelled counsels for notices, MIS maintenance, and cheque presentations.
- Develop dispute resolution strategies, including settlements and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.
- Identify and evaluate legal risks and advise senior management on risk mitigation.
- Support compliance with AML and KYC regulations.
- Assist in drafting and implementing internal policies and advise on corporate governance matters.
- Advise on consumer protection laws and support lawful loan collection, repossession, and recovery processes.
- Conduct legal research related to vehicle and battery financing and NBFC operations.
- Provide legal training to staff on regulatory compliance, contract management, and dispute resolution.
Eligibility
- Minimum 3+ years of experience.
- Master’s degree in Law with specialisation in Banking and Finance.
- Strong knowledge of legal drafting, compliance requirements, and financial regulations.
- Specialised skills in litigation, contract drafting, and case presentation.
