Details of the Job/Internship

Capital Energy is hiring a Legal Counsel with experience of 5–8 years to support their project contracting function.

Role and Responsibilities

• Structure, draft, review, and negotiate critical project contracts, including EPC, O&M (Operations & Maintenance), and PPA agreements.
• Manage a wide array of documentation, including vendor contracts, land agreements, and project-specific legal filings.
• Partner closely with Business Development and Project teams to ensure all contracts reflect commercial objectives.
• Identify and mitigate potential contractual and regulatory risks throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support the transition of projects from the development phase through execution and into active operations.
• Ensure strict compliance with applicable energy laws, regional regulatory frameworks, and specific contractual obligations.
• Provide strategic legal advice to internal stakeholders to resolve complex project execution issues.

Eligibility

• LLB / LLM degree from a recognized and reputed institution.
• 5–8 years of experience in corporate or project contracting roles.
• Strong exposure to the infrastructure, renewable energy, EPC, or power sectors is mandatory.
• Demonstrated expertise in contract structuring, complex drafting, and high-level negotiations.
• Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks governing the energy and utilities industry.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional project teams.
