Details of the Job/Internship

Clariant is hiring a Senior Legal Counsel with 10+ years of experience to join their office in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.

Role and Responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate, and finalise commercial and business agreements, including supply, distribution, tolling, and confidentiality agreements.
• Support M&A transactions, joint ventures, and similar strategic initiatives across geographies.
• Ensure efficient, consistent, and compliant contract management aligned with legal and organisational standards.
• Advise and support business units and functional teams on legal matters.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external parties for timely contract execution.
• Collaborate with external counsel to manage litigation, including filings and responses.
• Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on business operations.
• Identify legal and business risks and propose effective mitigation strategies.
• Apply strategic thinking, problem-solving skills, and strong business partnering capabilities.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Law from a reputed university.
• AIBE qualification and Bar Council of India enrolment preferred but not mandatory.
• Minimum 10+ years of post-qualification experience with a mix of law firm and in-house exposure.
• Knowledge of antitrust law.
• Experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts.
• Hands-on litigation support and case management experience.
• Exposure to cross-border transactions and international stakeholders.
• Strong communication skills and excellent command of the English language.
• Willingness to travel.
• Prior experience in the manufacturing or chemical industry preferred.

Salary/Stipend
