Details of the Job/Internship
Confidential is hiring a Regional Legal Counsel with experience of 5–10 years to join their office in Bengaluru. The role supports India operations with a focus on the manufacturing industry and involves providing corporate, commercial, compliance, and transactional legal support across the group, operating as a corporate generalist with regional exposure.
Role and Responsibilities
- Provide general legal advisory through legal research and strategic advice across business units.
- Draft, review, negotiate, and advise on international commercial agreements including NDAs, supply of goods and services agreements, procurement contracts, lease agreements, letters of intent, and term sheets.
- Support corporate governance matters and cross-border transactions including M&A, joint ventures, investments, due diligence, negotiations, regulatory clearances, and post-completion matters.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks across operations and contracts.
- Advise on group policies and ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and contractual requirements.
- Develop and deliver legal training programs for business teams.
- Engage and manage external counsel as approved by the General Counsel.
Eligibility
- Qualified lawyer eligible to practise law in India.
- 5–10 years of corporate and commercial legal experience with a mix of law firm and in-house exposure.
- Experience in the manufacturing industry is an advantage.
- Strong command of legal English.
- High ethical standards with proven ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent communication skills to advise non-legal stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
- Willingness to work irregular hours to coordinate with global teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Willingness to undertake occasional international travel.
