Datta Infra is hiring a Legal Counsel to join their office in Gurugram.

Role and Responsibilities

• Contract Management and Negotiation: Draft, review, and negotiate renewable energy-specific contracts, including EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction), O&M (Operations and Maintenance), PPA (Power Purchase Agreements), and land lease/sale agreements. Ensure all contracts are aligned with industry regulations and project objectives, with a focus on renewable energy best practices.
• Land Acquisition and Land-Use Management: Manage legal aspects of land acquisition. Draft and negotiate land-related agreements, such as lease, purchase, and easement agreements, ensuring compliance with local land laws and regulations. Work closely with landowners, governmental authorities, and regulatory bodies to secure land approvals and address land-related legal issues that may impact project timelines. Provide legal advice on land access, zoning, environmental, and other land-use matters to support site development and project planning.
• Regulatory Compliance and Permitting: Conduct thorough legal due diligence on project sites and acquisitions, ensuring compliance with rules and regulations at local, state, and national levels. Advise on securing necessary permits, licenses, and regulatory approvals, working closely with environmental and permitting teams to streamline processes.
• Project Financing and Investment Structuring: Support the structuring and financing of renewable projects, including engagement with banks and investors, advising on financing agreements, and coordinating loan documentation. Analyze legal risks associated with financing arrangements, implementing strategies to protect the company’s interests.
• Risk Management and Dispute Resolution: Identify and proactively manage legal risks specific to renewable energy projects, including risk mitigation strategies tailored to renewable operations. Address disputes arising from project agreements and manage legal claims, providing strategic advice to mitigate impact on project timelines and costs.
