Details of the Job/Internship
Diageo India is hiring a Legal Counsel – Specialist (Litigation) with 8+ years of experience to join its office in Gurgaon.
Role and Responsibilities
- Formulate and implement litigation and dispute resolution strategies.
- Manage all litigation and arbitration cases, ensuring timely updates to stakeholders.
- Engage with external counsel, review case merits, and determine optimal resolution paths.
- Provide pragmatic legal advice to senior leadership and support business strategies.
- Manage legal budgets and optimize external counsel spending.
- Drive compliance with anti-bribery, tax, and excise laws.
- Foster trust, accountability, and ethical leadership within the legal function.
Eligibility
- LL.B. from a reputed Indian university; LL.M. preferred.
- Minimum 8 years of post-qualification experience in litigation with a law firm or corporate (preferably FMCG/manufacturing sector).
- Strong legal drafting and advocacy experience before High Courts, Tribunals, and the Supreme Court.
- In-depth knowledge of excise/tax laws and anti-bribery regulations.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in MS PowerPoint and Excel preferred.
