Details of the Job/Internship
Duco is looking for a candidate for the position of Legal Counsel with 2–4 years of post-qualification experience to join them in Hybrid Mode.
Role and Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate B2B SaaS commercial contracts with a diverse range of clients and partners, including leading banks, brokers, hedge funds, and insurers.
- Provide expert guidance on data protection and security compliance, including negotiating data processing agreements with clients and vendors.
- Serve as a trusted business partner by offering strategic legal counsel across various functions of the company, supporting innovative and commercially sound decision-making.
- Develop and enhance corporate governance policies and procedures, ensuring compliance while driving operational efficiency.
- Negotiate and draft vendor agreements to support the company's operational and strategic goals.
Eligibility
- Qualified Solicitor in England and Wales with 2–4 years of post-qualification experience, gained in private practice or in-house, holding a current and valid practicing certificate.
- Proven experience in fast-paced, technology-driven environments, ideally with exposure to high-growth or innovative sectors.
- Strong expertise in drafting, structuring, and negotiating contracts within the technology sector, particularly in SaaS and software licensing.
- A passion for solving complex challenges, collaborating with stakeholders to deliver practical solutions in a dynamic commercial setting.
- Knowledge and/or experience in Intellectual Property and data privacy, with the ability to provide sound advice in these critical areas.
- Independent and collaborative working skills, with the ability to balance autonomy and teamwork effectively.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of earning credibility and trust with diverse stakeholders quickly.
- Skilled in handling objections and leading negotiations, navigating challenging discussions to achieve positive outcomes.
- Highly organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks effectively in a fast-moving environment.
- Out of the Box thinker with a curious mindset, eager to continuously develop as a legal professional.
- Proactive problem solver, taking ownership of potential issues and delivering innovative, practical solutions.
