Details of the Job/Internship
Earth Tekniks is hiring a Legal Counsel with 3 to 5 years of experience to join its office in Chennai.
Role and Responsibilities
Contracts Management:
- Draft, review, and negotiate various contracts, including JV, service agreements, licensing agreements, NDAs, and vendor agreements.
- Provide strategic advice to stakeholders on contractual risks and mitigations.
- Ensure all contracts comply with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Maintain and manage a centralized repository for contracts and related documentation.
- Resolve contract-related disputes and issues, liaising with external counsel if necessary.
Intellectual Property Rights:
- Advise on IP strategy, including patent, copyright, trademark, and trade secret protection.
- Conduct IP due diligence and provide support for IP registration and portfolio management.
- Draft and negotiate IP licensing and technology transfer agreements.
- Monitor and enforce IP rights, addressing potential infringements.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on IP-related best practices and policies.
Compliance & Advisory:
- Stay updated on legal developments in contracts, IP, and data protection laws.
- Support business teams in navigating complex legal and regulatory frameworks.
- Collaborate with external legal counsel and regulatory bodies as needed.
- Conduct legal risk assessments and ensure the organization adheres to industry standards.
Eligibility
Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) or equivalent; a Master’s degree in Law (LLM) is a plus.
- Specialization in intellectual property law is preferred.
Professional Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in legal roles focusing on contracts and IP rights.
- Strong expertise in drafting and negotiating commercial agreements and managing IP portfolios.
- Experience in litigation or dispute resolution is a plus.
Key Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of IP law, contract law, and related regulations.
- Exceptional analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
Certifications:
- Admission to the Bar or equivalent certification.
- Certifications in IP law or contract management are advantageous.
Salary/Stipend
