Details of the Job/Internship
Envalior is hiring a Legal Counsel India with 8–10 years of experience to support India operations and global contracting initiatives.
Role and Responsibilities
- Draft, review, negotiate, and manage commercial, procurement, supply chain, services, and operational contracts for India operations.
- Provide day-to-day legal advisory support to India business teams on commercial transactions, manufacturing operations, HR, and operational matters.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and central laws related to manufacturing, labour, environmental, safety, and corporate regulations.
- Manage and enhance the India compliance framework, including statutory compliance tracking, reporting, and audit readiness.
- Support corporate governance for India entities, including board and committee matters, statutory filings, and internal governance frameworks.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external advisors on regulatory approvals, inspections, audits, and interactions with authorities.
- Review pleadings, filings, opinions, and legal documentation prepared by external counsel for India matters.
- Identify legal, regulatory, and compliance risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Draft, review, and negotiate cross-border and global commercial contracts.
- Support centralized contracting initiatives and effective use of the contract lifecycle management system.
- Develop and improve global contract templates, clause libraries, and negotiation playbooks.
- Support digitalization and automation initiatives across contract lifecycle management and compliance monitoring.
- Drive consistency and efficiency in global contracting processes through standardization and legal operations best practices.
- Partner with global and regional stakeholders on commercial contracting strategies and continuous improvement initiatives.
Eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized university.
- Company Secretary qualification or ICSI membership is an advantage.
- 8–10 years of relevant experience as a commercial transactions attorney in a top-tier law firm or in-house legal department.
- Prior experience in global or multinational manufacturing is preferred.
- Prior experience in the automotive industry is preferred.
- Strong understanding of India’s commercial, labour, environmental, factory, and industrial laws.
- Experience working in a matrix organization with global teams is preferred.
- Ability to quickly understand business requirements and provide practical, business-oriented legal solutions.
