Details of the Job/Internship
FICO is hiring a Legal Counsel with experience of 5+ years to join their office in Bengaluru.

Role and Responsibilities
- Draft, review, negotiate, and translate a variety of agreements (sales, service, subcontract, software, procurement, non-disclosure, HR, office lease, insurance) for assigned internal and external clients.
- Review defined contract terms, limitation of liability, intellectual property indemnity, license grants, and warranty, revising accordingly consistent with FICO policies and procedures;
- Support sales/business teams on opportunities including support of the RFP process and contract terms requiring approval.
- Provide contract review coordination across businesses (product, services, finance) in support of clients.
- Support department for contract template revisions, contract interpretation, and translation, as requested.
- Protect FICO from unnecessary contract liabilities, damages, and penalties.
- Identify red flag risk areas, working with the business team to seek appropriate approvals.
- Advise the company on a wide range of legal and regulatory issues, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Develop, implement, and monitor compliance policies and procedures in line with local and international regulations (e.g., DPDP Act, anti-bribery laws, financial regulations).
- Provide guidance and education to employees on compliance policies and legal issues, fostering a culture of compliance across the organization.
- Maintain relationships with relevant regulatory bodies and stay informed on regulatory developments.
Eligibility
- Juris Doctor degree, or equivalent law degree from an accredited institution. Active license to practice law in India or other Commonwealth jurisdictions.
- Experience in software licensing, preferably in a corporate legal department.
- Strong analytical and contract formation, preparation, drafting, review, management and negotiation skills.
- Ability to identify key risk and policy issues in any transactional situation/opportunity.
- Basic understanding of United States software intellectual property law and practices, along with accounting regulations (e.g., GAAP rules).
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks and projects.
- High ethical standards with a commitment to upholding legal and regulatory requirements.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is required. Proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
- At least 5+ years of qualification Experience (practice and in-house).
