Details of the Job/Internship
Ford Motor Company is hiring a Legal Counsel with experience of 7 to 10 years to join their office in Bangkok City.
Role and Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice/opinion in legal matters relevant to all entities, both sales and manufacturing companies, all departments/functions for the Thailand market
- Be the first point of contact to support Sales, Dealer Development/Networks, and Treasury matters
- Draft, review, and provide advice regarding loan agreements and other financial-related agreements
- Negotiate loan agreement terms with support from outside counsel.
- Support Purchasing regional team on purchasing-related matters, including legal advice/ comment on Global Terms and Conditions, Purchase Order, as well as any dispute by suppliers
- Be the first point of contact on Data Privacy Law.
- Draft and negotiate legal and commercial contracts as well as letters and other marketing materials
- Provide legal advice to human resources teams about labor-related matters that include union negotiation with the manufacturing teams.
- Furnish legal newsletters and other internal communications
- Represent company’s interests in suppliers’ and labors’ litigation-related matters and do all paperwork to support litigation and claims including the ongoing class action lawsuit in Thailand.
- Responsible for license management for Ford and Joint Venture entities in Thailand, which covers providing advice in obtaining required licenses, and permits, initiating permit applications or liaising with external counsel regarding applications, and ensuring compliance, e.g., reporting to government authorities if required.
- Liaison with global teams on the outside counsel firm timekeeping and billing
- Liaison with Ford local representatives to handle all government-related issues
- Liaison with Thai government authorities on Ford Thailand entities’ behalf.
Eligibility
- Bachelor's or higher degree in Law.
- At least 7-10 years of experience in related field.
- Able to travel, be flexible, able to handle work under pressure and set his/her high standards, able to prioritize his/her work to meet the stretch deadline.
- Excellent command of English in both spoken and written.
- Good presentation and interpersonal skills.
Salary/Stipend
