Details of the Job/Internship
Ford Motor Company is hiring a Legal Counsel with experience of 2–4 years to join its team in Dubai. The role involves advising on a wide range of legal matters, managing complex issues involving multiple stakeholders, and supporting corporate, commercial, regulatory, privacy, and digital initiatives across the Middle East, North, and Sub-Sahara Africa regions.
Role and Responsibilities
- Advise on a variety of legal topics and manage complex legal matters involving multiple stakeholders.
- Lead legal aspects of corporate structuring, including incorporation of new entities and joint ventures.
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including distributor agreements, inventory management contracts, and lease agreements.
- Provide legal oversight on distributor relations, including renewals, non-renewals, terminations, and dispute resolution.
- Manage legal workstreams for strategic projects, office relocations, and business closures in compliance with local regulations.
- Ensure compliance with privacy and data protection laws across the Middle East, North, and Sub-Sahara Africa regions.
- Advise on data transfer requirements and amend regional agreements to include privacy provisions.
- Support global privacy initiatives, including review and localisation of privacy notices.
- Provide legal guidance in the event of data breaches and ensure compliance with notification requirements.
- Analyse regulatory issues and provide proactive risk management advice.
- Monitor legislative changes to ensure ongoing regulatory compliance.
- Review and advise on terms and conditions for digital products and applications.
Eligibility
- Law degree (J.D., LL.B., or equivalent) from an accredited institution with an active license to practice law.
- Minimum of 2–4 years of relevant legal experience in a top-tier law firm or as in-house counsel in a multinational corporation.
- Proven experience in corporate and commercial law within the MENA region, with preference for GCC experience.
- Strong knowledge of corporate law, data privacy regulations, and commercial procedures.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyse complex matters, exercise sound judgment, and manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
- Fluency in English and Arabic.
Salary/Stipend
