Hashed Emergent is an early-stage crypto VC fund investing in emerging market opportunities, specifically in India and Africa. Launched in 2022, it is part of the Hashed group—one of the world’s most active crypto VCs. The fund is backed by leading financial and strategic investors in the crypto space and is currently investing out of its first fund. Based in Bangalore with a presence in Singapore, Nigeria, and Thailand, Hashed Emergent is one of the largest capital allocators in India and Africa for crypto and the only active India-focused VC backing crypto founders. 

Details of the Job/Internship

Hashed Emergent is hiring a Legal Counsel with a minimum of 2 years of experience to join their office in Bengaluru.

Role and Responsibilities

• Conduct legal due diligence of crypto projects.
• Draft and negotiate transaction documents for equity and token investments.
• Provide legal advice to portfolio companies on routine and strategic matters.
• Lead fund formation activities including setting up investment managers, project funds, and carry arrangements.
• Assist in fund administration and compliance.
• Handle routine corporate legal work and strategic legal projects for group entities.
• Research and publish content on crypto legal trends.
• Draft the legal, tax, and regulatory chapter of the India Web3 Landscape Report.
• Provide legal support for events like India Blockchain Week and group companies W2 and ECC.
• Support investor relations and fundraising, if required.
• Lead policy-related initiatives in the crypto space.
• Assist ECC in providing legal services for fundraising and token launches.

Eligibility

• BA-LLB or LLB from a reputed Indian university.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in transactional work, particularly in equity fundraising, at an Indian law firm.
• Prior experience working on crypto fundraising deals.
• Strong passion for blockchain technology (e.g., trading cryptocurrencies, using protocols, engaging in crypto communities).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage legal projects end-to-end.
• Comfortable in a high-pressure, fast-paced, and transparent environment.
• Experience using or strong willingness to adopt AI tools to enhance legal workflows.

Salary/Stipend
