Hitachi Energy is hiring a Legal Counsel with over 8 years of experience to join their office in Bengaluru.
Role and Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice on complex tenders and projects related to HVDC, offshore wind, and grid integration.
- Negotiate contractual terms with customers, partners, and suppliers in collaboration with business teams.
- Identify legal risks and develop effective strategies and mitigation plans.
- Support tender reviews, risk assessments, framework agreements, and partnerships.
- Collaborate with global legal teams and interdisciplinary departments.
- Promote dispute avoidance and manage litigations in coordination with external counsel.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal directives.
- Assist in risk management processes and provide employee training on legal matters.
- Uphold Hitachi Energy’s core values of safety, integrity, and accountability.
Eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree in Law.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in grid systems or major utilities construction/engineering projects.
- Proven expertise in handling complex international corporate and commercial transactions.
- Knowledge of FIDIC and offshore contracts.
- Strong communication, drafting, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and travel as needed.
- Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
