Details of the Job/Internship
Hitachi Energy is hiring a Legal Counsel with 8+ years experience to join their Bengaluru office.
Role and Responsibilities
- Negotiate contractual terms with customers, partners, and suppliers for complex tenders and projects.
- Develop legal strategies and solutions, identifying and mitigating risks.
- Review tender preparations, framework agreements, partnerships, and settlements.
- Collaborate with global legal and interdisciplinary teams.
- Promote dispute avoidance and manage litigation when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with laws, internal regulations, and company directives.
- Support regional legal teams and contribute to risk management processes.
- Train employees on legal matters and uphold company values.
Eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree in law.
- 8+ years of legal experience in grid systems or utility construction/engineering projects.
- Expertise in handling international corporate and commercial transactions, claims, and litigations.
- Knowledge of governmental regulations, FIDIC, and offshore contracts.
- Strong communication, drafting, negotiation skills, and ability to work under pressure.
- Willingness to travel.
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
