Details of the Job/Internship

Hitachi Energy is hiring a Legal Counsel with a minimum of 10 years of post-qualification experience to join its Dubai office. The role involves providing full-spectrum legal support across Corporate Functions and Business Units, including Grid Integration, Grid Automation, High Voltage, Transformers, and Services.

Role and Responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate, and interpret legal documents and contracts.
• Provide strategic legal advice on matters including contract law, compliance, corporate governance, IP, and litigation.
• Support business units in managing contractual claims and disputes.
• Review policies and third-party documents for compliance.
• Conduct legal research and interpret laws and regulations.
• Advise on liability, rights, and obligations in disputes and litigation.
• Develop and deliver legal training and promote compliance awareness.
• Facilitate best practice sharing and ensure standardized processes across the business.
• Support the implementation of the Code of Ethics and Business Conduct.
• Ensure compliance with internal and external regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree in Law.
• Minimum 10 years of post-qualification experience.
• 5+ years as in-house legal counsel or in legal practice related to major utilities, construction, or engineering projects.
• Strong experience in contract law and commercial negotiations.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• High level of integrity and ethical standards.
• Proficiency in English (Arabic is a plus).
• Bar admission preferred but not mandatory.

Salary/Stipend
