Details of the Job/Internship
Hitachi Energy is hiring a Legal Counsel with experience of 8+ years to join their office in Savli - Vadodara.
Role and Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate high-value commercial contracts and framework agreements to achieve optimal business outcomes.
- Provide expert legal advice on real estate, anti-trust, intellectual property, and labor laws.
- Advise on claims liability and oversee dispute resolution and litigation matters through external advisors.
- Manage legal issues specific to factory locations and monitor overall legal affairs and activity reports.
- Review tender preparations, identify risks, and coordinate with supply chain functions for pre-qualification.
- Plan and coordinate legal training sessions to increase awareness of legal implications across the business.
- Research and interpret local laws and statutes to develop proactive legal strategies and practical solutions.
- Monitor and implement integrity and compliance directives across the Indian business units.
- Facilitate the sharing of best practices to ensure standardized legal processes across the global organization.
Eligibility
- Educational Qualification: Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from a leading Indian university; a Master of Laws (LLM) is preferred.
- Professional Experience: At least 8 years as in-house counsel or in legal practice, specifically in major utilities, construction, or engineering projects.
- Technical Expertise: Strong working knowledge of FIDIC (International Federation of Consulting Engineers) contract forms and industry practices.
- Skills: Proven track record in handling complex international corporate transactions and significant litigations.
- Competencies: Strong leadership, business-mindedness, and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Language: Proficiency in both spoken and written English.
