HP is hiring a Legal Counsel with experience of 8 to 12 years to join their office in Gurugram.
Role and Responsibilities
This role is responsible for providing day-to-day activities and legal support to country management, business units, and functions in India, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh. The role has the accountability of complex, multidimensional projects or transactions spanning across multidepartment areas and/or locations. The role also provides legal expertise in relation to corporate affairs and local governance standards. Additionally, the role contributes to complex projects, develops new methods for recurring legal issues and mentors junior team members.
- Provide comprehensive legal solutions at the country, sub- region, or region level, including driving high value/risk commercial transactions, program review, drafting, and negotiations.
- Support business operations by reviewing and negotiating contracts for hardware, managed services, software and professional services contracts with large enterprise and public sector customers, through direct or indirect routes-to-market, across HP’s portfolio.
- Deliver subject matter expertise on variety of legal areas, including commercial law, antitrust, employment, real estate, litigation, and regulatory compliance.
- Monitor regulatory changes and industry trends, ensuring the organization stays compliant with evolving legal requirements.
- Advise senior legal leadership on regional legal and overall organizational strategies, by leveraging strong negotiation skills to handle complex transactions and crisis situations.
- Lead the identification and resolution of intricate local legal issues that require in-depth analysis and cross-functional collaboration.
- Develop and deliver training and guidance on legal topics to mitigate risks and enhance the efficiency of legal services.
- Provide institutional knowledge, fiduciary oversight, and support regarding corporate and governance standards, policies, and processes.
- Mentor junior team members, fostering their professional development and knowledge growth within the legal function.
Eligibility
- Bachelor or Master's degree in Law with post qualification 8 to 12 years of experience in commercial contracts drafting, review, and negotiations.
- Uses advanced managerial concepts and aligns with company objectives to address highly complex legal issues in creative and effective ways.
