Details of the Job/Internship
HSBC is hiring a Legal Counsel with 5–10 years of experience to join its legal team in Bengaluru.
Role and Responsibilities
- Support loan execution and advise on loan structuring and documentation.
- Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents, including facility agreements, term sheets, opinions, and ancillary documentation.
- Interpret legal advice for internal stakeholders and ensure policy compliance.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of legal professionals.
- Collaborate with stakeholders on resource planning and performance delivery.
- Participate in cross-border transactions and regulatory compliance.
- Develop expertise in LMA facilities and market trends.
- Engage in professional development through internal/external training.
Eligibility
- LL.B. with 5–10 years of relevant legal experience in banking or financial services.
- Experience in drafting and negotiating loan and security documents.
- Prior team leadership experience preferred.
- Exposure to cross-border lending and regulatory compliance desirable.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Familiarity with LMA templates and transaction structuring preferred.
