Details of the Job/Internship

HSBC is hiring a Legal Counsel with 8–10 years of experience to join their Legal team in Bengaluru.

Role and Responsibilities

• Assist Senior Transaction Managers in executing loan transactions, including drafting and reviewing term sheets and facility agreements.
• Review and negotiate various loan-related documents, including release letters, fee letters, deeds of priority, and subordination.
• Advise business teams on legal and regulatory risks related to loan structures.
• Support clients and stakeholders in interpreting legal advice and ensuring policy compliance.
• Lead and mentor team members, ensuring quality delivery and professional growth.
• Coordinate cross-functional and cross-border lending transactions.
• Participate in legal calls, negotiations, and documentation review processes.
• Ensure compliance with HSBC policies, AML, and KYC regulations.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree in Law with 8–10 years of relevant experience in banking or financial services.
• Experience in drafting and negotiating complex loan documentation and credit agreements.
• Strong knowledge of credit and lending laws and regulatory frameworks.
• Prior experience in team management preferred.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• Familiarity with LMA templates and cross-border financing is an advantage.
