Details of the Job/Internship

IDFC FIRST Bank is hiring a Legal Counsel with experience of 5–10 years to join its Legal department in Mumbai. The role involves advising internal stakeholders on legal risks and mitigants in partnerships and ventures, safeguarding the bank’s interests during documentation, execution, and post-execution stages, and drafting and negotiating IT and service-related contracts.

Role and Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate IT and service contracts, including software licenses, SaaS, PaaS, on-premise license agreements, hardware procurement agreements, MSAs, DPAs, API integration agreements, infosec agreements, data centre agreements, UPI, BBPS, FIP/FIU, business correspondent agreements, MoUs, NDAs, and referral agreements.
• Advise internal stakeholders on legal risks and mitigation strategies in partnerships and ventures.
• Analyse and interpret complex IT contracts and ensure compliance with banking regulations.
• Collaborate with compliance, risk, TPRM, procurement, and IT teams on legal issues.
• Update internal policies and procedures for contract management.
• Monitor regulatory and legal developments and inform relevant stakeholders.
• Coordinate with external advisors on resolution of complex legal issues.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law from a recognised university.
• Total experience of 5–10 years.
• Strong understanding of banking regulations and compliance requirements.
• Proven expertise in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts.
• Strong legal research, analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
