Details of the Job/Internship

IMI plc is hiring an In-House Legal Counsel with 3–7 years of experience to join its legal team in Bangalore.

Role and Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and oversee compliance programs to ensure adherence to laws, regulations, and internal policies.
• Conduct compliance assessments and audits and implement corrective actions where required.
• Provide compliance guidance and training on anti-corruption, anti-bribery, and competition laws.
• Manage data privacy and protection matters in line with Indian data protection laws, including the DPDPA.
• Review and advise on data processing activities, privacy policies, data transfer agreements, and data breach response procedures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate privacy requirements into business processes.
• Manage litigation matters, disputes, claims, and regulatory investigations with external counsel as required.
• Develop dispute resolution strategies to minimize legal risks and costs.
• Maintain litigation records and provide regular updates to senior management.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements including sales, procurement, and service contracts.
• Ensure contracts comply with applicable laws and company policies and protect the company’s interests.
• Establish and maintain effective contract management processes for renewals and obligations.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree in Law from a recognised institution.
• Admission to the State Bar Council is required.
• 3–7 years of legal experience in compliance, privacy, litigation management, and contract review.
• Strong knowledge of Indian legal and regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
