Details of the Job/Internship
Infinity Learn is looking for a candidate for the position of Legal Counsel with experience of 8 to 10 years.
Role and Responsibilities
- Contract Management: Draft, review, negotiate, and manage various contracts, including commercial agreements, vendor contracts, partnership agreements, NDAs, and licensing agreements.
- Data Protection: Provide expert legal guidance and support on data protection and privacy matters, including compliance with applicable data protection laws. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, security, and compliance to implement data protection policies and procedures. Monitor legislative and regulatory developments related to data privacy and advise the company on potential impacts and compliance strategies. Serve as the point of contact for data protection authorities and manage regulatory inquiries and responses.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including corporate governance, data privacy, and industry-specific regulations.
- Employment Law: Advise on employment law matters, including drafting employment contracts, handling employee disputes, and ensuring compliance with labor laws.
- Intellectual Property: Manage and protect the company’s intellectual property portfolio, including trademarks, patents, and copyrights.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate legal risks, provide strategic legal advice to senior management, and support risk management initiatives.
- Corporate Governance: Assist with corporate governance matters, including board meetings, corporate records, and filings.
- Dispute Resolution: Manage and resolve legal disputes and litigation, working with external counsel as necessary.
- Legal Research: Conduct legal research to stay current with relevant laws and regulations and provide timely updates and training to the team.
- Policy Development: Develop and implement company policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance and best practices.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders including sales, marketing, technology, product, finance, and HR teams to provide strategic legal guidance and support business initiatives.
- Other Duties: Perform other legal duties as assigned by the Chief Legal Officer or General Counsel.
Eligibility
Degree from an accredited law school.
Admitted to practice law in [State/Country] and in good standing with the bar association.
Minimum eight years of experience in a corporate legal department or law firm, preferably with experience in the EdTech industry.
Strong knowledge of contract, corporate, employment, data protection, and intellectual property laws.
Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively.
High ethical standards and integrity.
CS Degree will be preferred.
Salary/Stipend
