Details of the Job/Internship

James Walker Group is hiring for the position of Legal Counsel with 2-5 years of experience to join their office in Mumbai. 

Role and Responsibilities

• Provide legal counsel to global sales and procurement teams.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including sales, manufacturing, and procurement contracts.
• Deliver pragmatic legal advice on laws, regulations, and risk management.
• Assist with legal research and draft policies, guidelines, templates, and training materials.
• Advise on contentious issues, coordinate with external counsel, and negotiate settlements.
• Support compliance matters, including GDPR, anti-bribery, sanctions, export control, and modern slavery regulations.
• Contribute to the development of legal operations and promote best practices across the organization.
• Deliver legal training and internal awareness sessions to business teams.

Eligibility

• Qualified Lawyer in India or a common law jurisdiction, with a sound understanding of English law (2–5 years PQE preferred).
• Working knowledge of:
• Contract law
• Intellectual property
• Data privacy (GDPR)
• Export controls & trade compliance
• Anti-bribery & corruption
• Modern slavery laws
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook).
• Experience in delivering practical, business-aligned legal advice.

Salary/Stipend
