John Cockerill Group is hiring a Legal Counsel with 7+ years of experience to join their Mumbai office.
Role and Responsibilities
- Draft, analyze, and negotiate various contracts including sales, JV, consortium, licenses, and agency agreements.
- Assess client terms and conditions, identifying contractual and insurance risks.
- Coordinate with Tax and HR departments to analyze country-specific risks and compliance.
- Develop and implement solutions to mitigate identified risks.
- Manage legal disputes and collaborate with external law firms when needed.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and internal policy adherence.
- Promote business-focused legal advice while upholding ethical standards.
- Provide training on legal matters and raise risk awareness among stakeholders.
- Support group-wide ethics, compliance, and corporate housekeeping activities.
- Participate in Commitment Committee and project reviews.
- Occasionally travel abroad for assignments.
Eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree in Law from a reputed institute.
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in commercial and contractual law.
- Strong understanding of the group’s activities, entities, and operational methods.
- Proficient in English and Microsoft Office tools.
