Details of the Job/Internship
KLA is hiring for the position of Legal Counsel with 8 years of experience to join their office in Chennai.
Role and Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts including technology, commercial real estate, procurement, licensing, development, and collaboration agreements.
- Advise on employment law issues, labor relations, contingent workforce matters, and internal investigations in partnership with HR and the Global Employment Law team.
- Provide legal guidance on compliance areas including anti-bribery/anti-corruption, antitrust, privacy, conflicts of interest, trade compliance, and ethics.
- Support business units on regulatory matters, government contracts, and external disputes, coordinating with outside counsel where required.
- Conduct internal investigations on topics such as fraud, harassment, conflicts of interest, and intellectual property misuse.
- Partner with corporate and business teams to mitigate legal risks in real estate, construction, acquisitions, channel partner governance, and safety initiatives.
- Contribute to acquisition integration, policy rollout, and implementation of contract management solutions.
- Act as liaison with government agencies and represent the Company in external interactions.
- Provide clear, timely communication of legal risks, opportunities, and strategies to business leaders and LCO colleagues.
Eligibility
- Education: Strong academic background in law; admitted to the India or foreign bar in good standing.
- Experience: Minimum 8 years of legal experience with an international law firm or multinational corporate legal team. Semiconductor or related industry experience preferred.
- Expertise: Proven skills in commercial and contract law; strong drafting/negotiation experience; working knowledge of employment law, compliance (FCPA, antitrust, export/trade controls), and internal investigations.
- Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and interpersonal skills. Strong presence with the ability to manage business pressures, influence stakeholders, and operate independently. Self-motivated, organized, and able to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Language: Fluency in English required.
Salary/Stipend
