Details of the Job/Internship

Lincoln Electric is hiring a Legal Counsel with a minimum of 3 years of experience in corporate compliance to join their office in Chennai. 

Role and Responsibilities

• Provide accurate and timely counsel to executives on labor law, partnerships, international ventures, corporate finance, and other legal topics.
• Collaborate with management to devise efficient defense strategies.
• Establish internal governance policies and monitor compliance.
• Research and evaluate risk factors related to business decisions and operations.
• Apply risk management techniques and provide proactive legal advice.
• Communicate and negotiate with external parties, including regulators and external counsel.
• Draft, review, and finalize agreements, contracts, and other legal documents.
• Handle complex matters involving multiple stakeholders.
• Clarify legal language and specifications across the organization.
• Conduct work with integrity and responsibility.

Eligibility

• Law degree with minimum 3 years of experience in corporate compliance.
• Proven experience as a Legal Counsel in a business environment.
• Strong knowledge of corporate law and procedures.
• Ability to analyze situations and information and create defensive or proactive strategies.
• Excellent judgment and outstanding communication skills.
• Experience dealing with regulatory bodies (BIS, Customs) is a plus.
• Knowledge of data privacy regulatory requirements and compliance is an advantage.
