Details of the Job/Internship

Linxon is hiring a Legal Counsel with experience as a qualified lawyer in international environments to join their Global Engineering and Technology Center (GETS) in Chennai. 

Role and Responsibilities

• Review and negotiate complex EPC contracts, RFPs, and tenders for international infrastructure projects.
• Manage IT services procurement, including SaaS, cloud solutions, and software licensing agreements.
• Support the Data Protection Officer by maintaining RoPAs, coordinating DPIAs, and monitoring AI compliance.
• Partner with the business to provide pragmatic advice on managing contractual, legal, and regulatory risks.
• Assist with litigation and claims management across various global hubs.
• Conduct "horizon scanning" and legal research on topics such as corporate sustainability reporting requirements.
• Handle legal operational matters, including the implementation and management of legal technology.
• Interpret and analyze legal documents and laws originating from multiple international jurisdictions.

Eligibility

• Law graduate from a reputable university with a valid Admission to the Bar.
• Prior experience in private practice or in-house roles, preferably within international work environments.
• Strong foundations in legal concepts, drafting, negotiation, and cross-border research.
• Familiarity with legal research tools such as Lexology or Practical Law.
• Demonstrated ability to context-switch and master new domains like GDPR and AI regulation.
• Excellent proficiency in English; ability to collaborate with teams across different time zones.
• Willingness for occasional domestic or international travel based on business needs.
