Details of the Job/Internship
LSEG is hiring a Legal Counsel with 0–4 years of post-qualification experience to join their team in Bengaluru. The role involves providing legal support to technology and procurement contracting teams, handling complex technology and commercial agreements, advising on data, intellectual property, privacy, and regulatory matters, and supporting compliance with applicable laws, corporate policies, and ethical standards.
Role and Responsibilities
- Provide legal support to technology and procurement contracting teams.
- Draft, review, revise, and negotiate complex technology agreements, including software and IP licences, SaaS, outsourcing, master agreements, NDAs, and related contracts.
- Advise on legal issues relating to data usage and licensing, disputes, regulatory matters, intellectual property, privacy, cybersecurity, data misuse, and consumer complaints.
- Coordinate and support legal matters handled by external counsel and managed legal service providers.
- Maintain, update, and revise contract templates, processes, and playbooks, and support special projects.
- Identify, research, assess, and brief senior lawyers and business stakeholders on legal risks and exposures, and assist in implementing proactive and remedial measures.
- Stay updated on applicable laws and regulations and support implementation of internal controls, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance.
Eligibility
- Qualified lawyer with 0–4 years of post-qualification experience in leading law firms or corporate legal teams.
- Experience in handling complex, high-value contracting and commercial law matters.
- Exposure to financial services, technology, data, and workflow-related matters is advantageous.
- Fluency in English with excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong drafting, negotiation, analytical, organisational, and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively while managing deadlines and multiple priorities.
