Details of the Job/Internship

Monotype is hiring for the position of Legal Counsel with  3+ years of experienece to join their office in Noida. 

Role and Responsibilities

• Partner with Monotype’s engineering and technical teams to understand their legal requirements and provide tailored support.
• Provide end-to-end legal counsel for third-party engagements, including contractors, consultants, and joint ventures; manage NDA processes.
• Oversee procurement-related legal matters involving infrastructure, software licensing, and vendor relationships with a focus on compliance and risk mitigation.
• Advise on legal issues tied to technology products, including privacy, cybersecurity, data protection, and intellectual property; collaborate with the VP of Global Licensing and Strategy on business model planning.
• Develop and implement policies related to technology use and compliance, supporting innovation across the organization.
• Apply technical understanding—preferably grounded in formal education in Information Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related discipline—to bridge legal counsel with technology operations. 

Eligibility

• Law degree and license to practice in India; in good standing.
• Minimum of 3+ years of legal experience advising tech companies, particularly in areas of commercial and technology law.
• Proven expertise in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating technology-related contracts and managing procurement legal processes.
• Preferred: academic background or formal training in a technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics).
• Exceptional communication skills in English, with the ability to explain complex legal and technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
• Strong collaborator with a demonstrated ability to work across functions and drive strategic legal initiatives in fast-paced, tech-oriented environments. 

Salary/Stipend

Compensation details will be finalized during the interview process with the selected candidate.
