Details of the Job/Internship
Nestaway is hiring for the position of Legal Counsel with 1 year of experience to join their office in Bengaluru.
Role and Responsibilities
- Serve as the legal point of contact for Nestaway’s commercial and operational teams in Bengaluru.
- Advise internal stakeholders on legal risks and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Coordinate and manage civil/criminal litigation, cheque bounce cases, arbitration, and other legal matters in collaboration with external counsel.
- Provide day-to-day legal support to local functions including HR, sales, operations, and finance.
- Draft, review, and vet contracts on an as-needed basis.
- Liaise with the central legal team to escalate issues and ensure prompt resolutions.
- Conduct internal training sessions on compliance and legal best practices.
- Report directly to the Associate Director – Legal.
Eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB).
- Minimum 1 year of relevant legal experience (in-house or law firm)..
- Strong knowledge of civil and criminal legal procedures.
- Prior exposure to real estate, rental, or commercial legal matters is an advantage.
- Fluent in Kannada – reading, writing, and speaking is mandatory.
- Must be based in Bengaluru or willing to relocate.
- Comfortable working from our HSR Layout office (on-site role).
