Details of the Job/Internship

Peergrowth India is hiring a Legal Counsel with 1–3 years of experience in corporate law, banking & finance, investment funds, or M&A to join their office in Chennai (preferred), Mumbai, or Delhi, with remote flexibility.

Role and Responsibilities

• Draft, review, structure, and negotiate documentation for private debt and equity transactions.
• Provide pre- and post-transaction legal support in collaboration with investment managers.
• Manage corporate governance requirements, board meetings, and corporate documentation.
• Stay updated on applicable legislation and ensure compliance.
• Coordinate with external counsel on compliance-related issues.
• Support fund structuring, documentation, and investor onboarding.
• Liaise with regulators for necessary approvals.

Eligibility

• Master of Laws (LL.M or equivalent) with strong academics.
• 1–3 years’ experience in corporate law, finance, investment funds, or M&A (law firm or in-house).
• Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and partner with the business in decision-making.
• Excellent English (written and spoken); French or other languages a plus.
• Exposure to international/multicultural environments preferred.
