Details of the Job/Internship
PETA India is hiring a Legal Counsel with at least two years of litigation experience to join their Delhi office.
Role and Responsibilities
- Draft in-house legal documents and court pleadings.
- Conduct legal research and support cross-functional teams.
- Report on litigation progress and coordinate with external counsel.
- Attend court hearings and briefing meetings.
- Draft legal notices, complaints, and RTI requests.
- Liaise with government bodies on animal cruelty cases.
- Monitor legal issues for potential litigation.
- Maintain clear legal records and meet deadlines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Eligibility
- LLB from a BCI-recognized university.
- Minimum two years of litigation experience preferred.
- Good standing to practice law.
- Willingness to travel and work from Delhi office.
- Preferred experience in animal rights or related field.
- Strong research, writing, and strategic thinking skills.
- Fluent in English; knowledge of Hindi and other languages is a plus.
- Vegan lifestyle and commitment to PETA's values.
