Details of the Job/Internship
Teya is hiring a Legal Counsel with experience of 0 to 1 year to join their office in London.
Role and Responsibilities
- Working with senior members of the legal team to provide day-to-day advice to the Teya business on a broad range of issues, but with a particular focus on employment, commercial and corporate law matters.
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a variety of commercial agreements to support the wider business.
- Assisting with a variety of employment matters, including implementation and administration of the Company's employee incentive schemes, recruitment, disciplinary and grievance matters, and employment tribunal proceedings.
- Liaising with local counsel and local teams within the Teya network.
- Supporting with building and improving processes in the team and how it works with the business.
- Assisting with training stakeholders and leaders in respect of legal issues and best practices.
Eligibility
- Qualified solicitor (0-1 PQE) in England and Wales.
- Fluency in English.
- An interest in the in-house legal world and the fintech industry.
- Hands-on attitude and ability to take initiative.
- Pragmatic and commercial approach to legal issues; ability to problem solve and think strategically in helping Teya achieve its goals.
- Solutions-oriented approach to legal and commercial risk.
- Effective communication skills and an ability to work effectively with the wider business.
