Details of the Job/Internship
UBS is hiring a Legal Counsel – Employment Law (India) with 5+ years of post-qualification experience to join their office in Pune or Mumbai.
Role and Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice and support on employment matters in India.
- Collaborate with HR, Employee Relations, Group Investigations, and business units to deliver practical legal solutions.
- Strategically manage legal risks and contentious employment issues, including litigation.
- Proactively support investigations, disciplinary and termination processes.
- Stay informed on changes in employment law and train internal stakeholders accordingly.
Eligibility
- India-qualified lawyer with over 5 years of post-qualification experience.
- Experience in employment legal matters, preferably in financial services, either in-house or in private practice.
- Strong understanding of Indian labour laws, especially related to HR operations, investigations, and termination scenarios.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, negotiation, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in English (written and oral); knowledge of local languages is a plus.
