Details of the Job/Internship

WTF Gyms is hiring a Legal Counsel with 3–7 years of experience to oversee legal, compliance, and due diligence functions across the company.

Role and Responsibilities

• Handle employee-related legal issues such as misconduct, terminations, absconding, disputes, and notices.
• Ensure adherence to labour laws, PF/ESI norms, POSH guidelines, employment contracts, offer letters, and NDAs.
• Draft and update HR policies ensuring legal compliance.
• Manage corporate compliance including GST support, ROC filings, contract renewals, and licenses for fitness centers.
• Maintain intellectual property documentation and trademark records.
• Conduct legal due diligence for gym owners, franchise partners, vendors, and real estate properties.
• Verify ownership papers, lease deeds, licenses, trade permits, and liabilities.
• Ensure regulatory and municipal compliance for all centers.
• Draft, review, and negotiate partnership agreements, vendor contracts, service agreements, software agreements, franchise MoUs, and marketing collaborations.
• Maintain a centralized contract repository and track renewals.
• Manage pre-litigation matters and coordinate with external counsels.
• Oversee consumer complaints, member issues, and corporate grievances.
• Represent the company in legal notices, settlements, and negotiations.
• Identify legal risks in operations, expansion, and new projects.
• Advise leadership on regulatory updates and compliance changes.
• Develop proactive legal frameworks to support business growth.

Eligibility

• LLB mandatory; LLM or specialization in corporate law preferred.
• 3–7 years of experience as a Legal Counsel, Corporate Lawyer, or In-house Legal Specialist.
• Experience in startups, retail, franchise, real estate, or corporate services is an advantage.
• Prior experience handling employee disputes and corporate compliance is essential.

Salary/Stipend
