Details of the Job/Internship

Xiaomi India is hiring a Legal Counsel with 4-7 years of experience to join their office in Bengaluru.

Role and Responsibilities

• Provide guidance and support to business teams on HR compliances, legal metrology, product-related compliances, permits, licenses, and approvals.
• Monitor corrective action plans relating to regulatory compliance.
• Assist in preparing compliance checklists for new product introductions and business-related compliances.
• Advise on the impact and consequences of new laws and regulations affecting Xiaomi’s business.
• Handle legal matters related to aftersales operations, logistics, HR, administration, and internal support functions.
• Draft and review various agreements including master service agreements, repair services agreements, employment agreements, and other commercial contracts.
• Liaise with and manage government, regulatory, and quasi-judicial authorities as required.
• Advise business teams on resolving legal issues, potential disputes, and government inquiries.
• Prioritize matters for internal handling or external counsel and manage external counsels effectively.
• Provide strategic and practical legal advice to business teams and help them understand risks and make informed decisions.
• Stay updated on industry developments and upcoming laws, analyze them, and provide summaries and reports to the team.

Eligibility

• L.L.B degree from a recognized university in India.
• 4-7 years of experience.
• Preferred experience in managing product and HR compliances and contract drafting, review, and negotiation as an in-house counsel or in a law firm.
• Ability to work efficiently and proactively on multiple projects under tight deadlines while maintaining a commitment to quality.
• Strong verbal and analytical skills, exceptional interpersonal and cross-cultural skills, and highly team-oriented.
• Flawless language and drafting skills.
• Solid business acumen with the ability to work in an unstructured environment and interact comfortably with business and management personnel.
• Strategic legal thinking and the ability to arrive at practical legal solutions.

Salary/Stipend
