YES BANK is hieing a Legal Counsel with 6-8 years of experience to join their office in Mumbai.

Role and Responsibilities

Advisory & Transaction Support

• Provide legal advice for large corporates, wholesale banking, structured deals, trade finance, and transaction banking products.
• Assist in structuring transactions, products, contracts, and procedures in line with best practices and the Bank’s operational/legal framework.
• Negotiate legal terms with third parties and resolve legal issues to facilitate business transactions.

Documentation & Standardization

• Draft, review, and update standard agreements, templates, and product-related legal guidelines.
• Ensure all documentation is up to date with regulatory and operational requirements.

Risk & Compliance Management

• Identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks affecting the Bank’s businesses.
• Monitor changes in regulatory and statutory requirements; recommend action plans to ensure compliance.
• Conduct due diligence for transactions, including property matters and regulatory perspectives.

Litigation & Dispute Resolution

• Coordinate with external counsel for litigation, including drafting complaints, replies, applications, and affidavits in civil and criminal matters.
• Supervise and manage local litigation and pre-litigation disputes.

Cross-Functional Legal Support

• Provide legal advice to internal teams, including HR, Finance, and Compliance.
• Support branches, subsidiaries, and affiliates in governance, corporate structure, and operational matters.
• Assist in launching new products and structuring deals, including contract drafting and negotiation.

Governance & Best Practices

• Collaborate with the legal team to develop and implement functional goals, best practices, and streamlined processes.
• Assist the General Counsel/Corporate Legal Head in aligning local legal policies with the Bank’s global standards.

Eligibility

• Education: LL.B. from a Tier I or Tier II law school.
• Experience: 5–8 years of corporate legal experience, preferably in the Banking sector or with top NBFCs.

Salary/Stipend

Compensation details will be finalized during the interview process with the selected candidate.
