Zamp is hiring a Legal Counsel with experience of 6+ years to join their office in Gurugram.
Role and Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice and support on a wide range of legal matters, including contracts, regulatory compliance, intellectual property, data protection, and corporate governance.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts, agreements, and legal documents, ensuring that the company's interests are protected and that all legal requirements are met.
- Monitor and assess changes in laws and regulations that may impact the company's operations, and provide guidance and recommendations to the executive team and relevant stakeholders.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to support business decisions and ensure that the company's activities comply with relevant laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and human resources, to address legal issues and provide guidance on legal implications related to business activities and initiatives.
- Manage and oversee relationships with external legal counsel and regulatory authorities, ensuring effective communication and representation of the company's interests.
- Assist in the development and implementation of legal policies and procedures to promote compliance and mitigate legal risks across the organization.
Eligibility
- 6+ years of experience practicing law, with a focus on corporate law, contracts, and regulatory compliance, preferably within the fintech, technology, or startup industry.
- JD degree from an accredited law school. Admission to the bar in at least one jurisdiction is required.
- Strong knowledge of international business laws and regulations, with the ability to navigate and address legal challenges in various countries and jurisdictions (with a focus on with a specific focus on India, UAE, Europe, and North America).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience in drafting and negotiating contracts and agreements, with a keen attention to detail and a strong understanding of legal implications
- A strong understanding of and experience in building and managing compliance programs/systems and ensuring compliance across various jurisdictions.
- A proactive attitude, a strong work ethic, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic startup environment.
