Details of the Job/Internship
Zensar Technologies is hiring a Legal Counsel with 5–9 years of commercial contracting experience, preferably in the IT industry, to join their Pune office. The role involves handling commercial contracts, IT infrastructure deals, and providing legal support on data protection and global privacy compliance.
Role and Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts including master services agreements, statements of work, software license agreements, partnership agreements, SaaS agreements, data protection agreements, GDPR amendments, and NDAs.
- Support infrastructure and managed service deals involving multi-vendor ecosystems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align contract terms with business goals and mitigate risks.
- Provide legal support on data protection and global privacy compliance, including risk assessments and awareness initiatives.
- Draft, review, and negotiate vendor contracts.
- Advise internal stakeholders on legal issues and risks.
- Assist HR teams with labor and employment matters, policies, and inquiries.
- Contribute to improving contract playbooks, templates, and legal knowledge repositories.
- Support CLM implementation and other legal projects for efficiency and automation.
- Stay updated on legal developments in the IT services industry and communicate implications internally.
Eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree in Law from a recognized institution/university.
- Minimum 6–7 years of post-qualification experience, ideally in the IT or technology sector.
- Experience handling complex commercial transactions, including IT outsourcing services agreements, IT infrastructure deals, partner/alliance agreements, SaaS agreements, software licensing agreements, and GDPR amendments.
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and provide practical, business-friendly legal advice.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Prior experience in EMEA-based commercial contracts preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with CLM tools is an advantage.
