Details of the Job/Internship
Jio is looking for a candidate for senior profile from Legal Department of medium to large company (preferably a Telecom/IT/e-Commerce company but not a must) and or a reputed Law Firm.
Role and Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with data privacy laws and regulations
- Manage and protect intellectual property rights of the company
- Draft and review contracts related to IT technology
- Stay updated with IT security regulations and implement necessary measures
- Interpret complex legal documents and provide actionable insights
- Communicate legal requirements and implications effectively.
- Pay attention to detail in all legal matters and documentation.
- Apply analytical thinking to anticipate legal issues and provide proactive solutions.
- Assisting company in providing day to day legal advice to concerned teams, and ensuring compliance with industry specific laws and other general law.
- Advice business on strategies due to change in laws, to various stake holders on various legal and compliance issues on need basis.
- Providing solution oriented, guidance on specific issues as may be sought by different functions.
- Advice business on IPR strategies to identify and manage the most effective structure for protection/use of IPR owned by Reliance, royalty arrangements, licensing and sub-licensing of IP in order to ensure efficiency, risk mitigation and revenue optimization by Reliance.
- Providing legal support to brand protection initiatives.
- Provide necessary support as required by the litigation team.
- Monitor business processes and practices at NHQ and ensure organization is operating as per defined policies and guidelines under the Indian Legal system and various statutory and regulatory guidelines.
- Minimize the legal risk involved in contracts, and ensure adherence to Reliances policies & practices.
Eligibility
- LL.B. (required), LL.M. (preferable)
- Strong contract drafting, vetting, reviewing and negotiating skills individually with attention to detail.
- Strong capabilities of training the legal team for creating backup.
- Strong capabilities to lead the team in case of need.
- Sound legal knowledge driven by logical and reasoned approach.
- Pragmatic, solutions-based approach to achieving business objectives in a legal manner.
- Ability to interpret and apply laws to practical business scenarios.
- Good communication skills (written as well as spoken) and analytical abilities
- High degree of passion & motivation
- Willing to handle a wide variety of challenging assignments
- Ability to work and collaborate across functions and within the legal team
- Open to learning and adapting to new environment.
