Details of the Job/Internship

Affinity is hiring a Director – Legal with 10+ years of post-qualification experience to lead its global legal function. 

Role and Responsibilities

• Act as a trusted legal advisor to the CEO, SVP Finance, and Global Leadership Team.
• Provide commercially sound legal guidance aligned with the company’s global growth strategy.
• Lead drafting, structuring, reviewing, and negotiating global agreements, enterprise MSAs, SLAs, advertiser and publisher contracts, technology partnerships, and vendor agreements.
• Ensure contract standardisation and manage contract lifecycle processes through legal tech platforms such as SpotDraft.
• Develop contract playbooks and risk matrices to improve deal turnaround time.
• Oversee compliance with global regulatory frameworks including data protection laws, anti-corruption laws, competition laws, and digital advertising regulations.
• Build legal risk dashboards and collaborate with finance, HR, product, and technology teams to mitigate regulatory risks.
• Support international expansion initiatives including new entity setups and restructuring across jurisdictions.
• Manage intellectual property strategies for software platforms, AI assets, trademarks, and content licensing.
• Coordinate with external law firms and consultants across global jurisdictions and optimise legal spend.
• Strengthen internal legal processes, governance frameworks, and legal automation tools.
• Conduct legal awareness sessions for business teams.
• Supervise and mentor in-house legal counsel and support development of the legal function.

Eligibility

• LL.B. from a premier law school is mandatory.
• LL.M. or international legal qualification is preferred.
• Minimum 10+ years of post-qualification legal experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in a global SaaS product or AdTech company.
• Prior experience in multinational in-house legal functions or reputed international law firms.
• Demonstrated experience in international contracting across multiple jurisdictions.
• Experience managing global external counsel networks.
• Working knowledge of contract lifecycle management systems, preferably SpotDraft.
• Strong commercial, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

Salary/Stipend
