Details of the Job/Internship
Syncarp is hiring a Legal Director with 8–12 years of experience to join their office in Chennai. The role involves overseeing legal functions, ensuring compliance, managing disputes, and leading a team of legal professionals.
Role and Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, including client agreements, vendor contracts, NDAs, SLAs, and licensing agreements.
- Ensure contracts comply with applicable laws and internal policies.
- Monitor compliance with local and international laws relevant to IT services.
- Develop and implement internal legal policies and procedures.
- Conduct legal audits and risk assessments.
- Manage pre-litigation and litigation matters and coordinate with external counsel.
- Represent the company in legal proceedings when required.
- Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations affecting the IT industry and communicate updates to stakeholders.
- Manage and mentor a team of legal professionals.
- Support junior team members through training, feedback, and career development plans.
- Conduct performance reviews and identify skill gaps for upskilling.
Eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB).
- Master’s degree (LLM) or specialisation in corporate law is optional.
- 8–12 years of experience in corporate legal roles, preferably in IT or technology services.
- Strong understanding of contract law, IT regulations, data protection laws, and employment law.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple legal projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
- High ethical standards and professional integrity.
