Details of the Job/Internship
Dorf Ketal is hiring a Legal Executive with 4–5 years of experience, preferably in corporate legal functions, to join their office in Mumbai. The role involves handling non-litigation and litigation support responsibilities and requires a strong willingness to grow within the organization.
Role and Responsibilities
Non-Litigation (Corporate Legal/Contract Management):
- Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts including NDAs, vendor agreements, distributorship agreements, MOUs, service level agreements, AMC contracts, deeds of hypothecation, loan and term facility agreements and other business-related documents.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and internal policies.
- Support cross-functional teams in contract execution, renewals and termination.
- Manage contract lifecycle and maintain the legal repository.
Litigation Support:
- Assist in drafting and reviewing legal pleadings such as written statements, affidavits, rejoinders and vakalatnamas.
- File legal documents with courts and authorities if required.
- Coordinate with external counsels regarding updates, hearing schedules and case strategies.
- Track and maintain the court diary and litigation MIS.
- Maintain organized legal documents and case files.
General Legal & Compliance Support:
- Conduct legal research on statutes, case laws and regulatory developments.
- Assist in due diligence, compliance tracking and regulatory filings.
- Provide updates to the reporting manager on key legal issues.
- Support internal audits, legal notices and responses.
- Ensure confidentiality and proper custody of sensitive legal documents.
Eligibility
- LL.B. from a reputed institute.
- 4–5 years of relevant experience.
- Understanding of Indian contract law, company law and litigation procedure.
- Strong legal drafting and communication skills.
- Ability to interpret complex legal documents.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Strong ethics, confidentiality and attention to detail.
