Details of the Job/Internship

FashionTV India is hiring a Legal Executive to join their office in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.

Role and Responsibilities

Contract Management:

• Drafted, vetted, analyzed, negotiated, and executed various agreements, including Lease Agreements, Leave & License Agreements, Joint Venture (JV) Agreements, Franchise Agreements, Business Term Agreements, and Service Agreements.

Legal Compliance & Risk Management:

• Ensured compliance with applicable laws such as IT, Consumer Protection, Environmental, and Legal Metrology (LM) Rules and customized checklists for regulatory compliance.
• Provided legal analysis and solutions to mitigate organizational risk.

Legal Drafting & Correspondence:

• Drafted and reviewed legal notices, replies to letters from authorities or third parties, undertakings, declarations, addenda, non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), memoranda of understanding (MOUs), powers of attorney (POA), and other legal documents.

Standard Operating Procedures (SOP):

• Structured and assisted in developing and documenting Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) within the organization.

Cross-Department Coordination:

• Coordinated with internal teams across departments, providing legal support for cross-functional activities.

Legal Research & Opinion:

• Conducted legal research and provided opinions on various legal provisions, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Personal Data Protection Bill, 2019, Legal Metrology Rules, Environmental Laws, E-commerce Rules, 2020, and Franchise Disclosure Documents.

Litigation & Dispute Management:

• Managed ongoing litigation matters, including arbitration, claims, and customer complaints/grievances.
• Assisted in vetting drafts of petitions and applications, conducted research, and attended court proceedings.

External Liaison & Conferences:

• Liaised with external legal counsels, solicitors, government authorities, third-party vendors, auditors, and business associates to address legal issues and ensure compliance.

Eligibility

• Strong understanding of contract management, legal compliance, and risk management.
• Comprehensive knowledge of e-commerce, privacy, and data protection laws.
• Experienced in drafting a wide range of legal documents.
• Familiarity with environmental and consumer protection laws.
• Skilled in conducting legal research and providing clear, actionable opinions.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and collaborate effectively.
