Details of the Job/Internship
The Minimalist is hiring a Legal Executive with a minimum of two years of relevant post-internship experience to join its team in Mumbai. The role involves agreement management, debt recovery and litigation, legal data management and reporting, intellectual property matters, compliance, and coordination with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Role and Responsibilities
- Draft, vet, and negotiate client agreements.
- Handle drafting, vetting, and negotiation of vendor service agreements, NDAs, channel partner agreements, terms of service or referral agreements, collaboration agreements, joint marketing agreements or MOUs, consulting agreements, and service provider contracts.
- Negotiate recovery of outstanding payments from defaulting debtors.
- Draft and issue legal notices and show-cause notices for payment recovery.
- Identify legal and compliance risks and suggest mitigation strategies.
- Liaise with clients regarding execution and registration of documents and attend court or assessment matters when required.
- Represent the company in litigation matters.
- Maintain legal data, MIS sheets, and provide monthly legal activity reports to management.
- Monitor contract renewals and expiries in accordance with contract management SOPs.
- Establish and maintain a structured legal repository and act as custodian of all legal data and documentation.
- Manage litigation and non-litigation matters and coordinate with external advocates and law firms.
- Provide legal support to internal departments and align internal policies with global standards.
- Safeguard the company’s intellectual property and ensure timely filing of oppositions.
- Review and validate client requests for commercial use of intellectual property rights.
- Monitor changes in laws, regulations, and compliance requirements and ensure implementation.
- Draft and implement internal SOPs to ensure legal and regulatory compliance across departments.
Eligibility
- LLB or LLM degree from a well-regarded law college or institute.
- Minimum of two years of relevant post-internship work experience with the ability to manage end-to-end legal activities.
- Proficiency in English, Hindi, and a regional language.
Salary/Stipend
