Cipla is hiring a Legal Intern to support the EU Legal team in the London Area.
Role and Responsibilities
- Assist with first-level reviews of NDAs, service agreements, statements of work, and amendments using standard templates.
- Prepare summary notes, cover emails, and issue lists for review by the central legal team.
- Manage the execution lifecycle under supervision, including version control, e-signature routing, signatory briefing notes, and filing of executed documents.
- Coordinate and schedule alignment calls, prepare agendas, record minutes, action owners, and timelines.
- Maintain a contract and advice tracker and circulate weekly updates.
- Ensure only central-approved legal positions are communicated externally and maintain records of approvals and sign-offs.
- Conduct targeted legal research and prepare structured research notes.
- Support updating contract templates based on recurring negotiation points and approved fallbacks.
- Maintain a budget log for external counsel and legal vendors, verify approvals, and coordinate fee estimate comparisons.
- Track invoices, work assignments, and accruals with Finance.
- Ensure document hygiene, follow record retention and naming conventions, and maintain organised folders.
- Support compliance attestations and CAPA follow-ups by tracking responses and updating trackers.
Eligibility
- LLB (currently pursuing graduation or recently graduated).
- Prior internships in contracts, corporate/commercial law, or in-house legal preferred.
- Working knowledge of contract structures and issue-spotting basics.
- Familiarity with version control and e-signature tools such as DocuSign.
- Proficiency in MS Word (Track Changes), Excel (trackers), PowerPoint (briefs), and SharePoint/Drive; exposure to CLM is a plus.
- Strong organisational skills, follow-through, and budget awareness.
- Clear written communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
